About me
I am Brazilian, piscean and traveller. Working as a yacht stewardess gives me the oportunitty to be close to the ocean, which is where I always wanted to be. This blog is the result of a desire to share my life with people who are seeking for a new adventure and also to help those who cross my path. Welcome to my world!
A few reason why I chose Australia
Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne and much more
11/02/2017 - Updated on 27/06/2017 22h14

When I was 24-years-old, I had never left Brazil or even boarded an airplane. One fine day, I told my family that I wanted to take a trip that would take anything between three years and the rest of my life. Three months later, I packed my bags and went to Australia.
Many people ask me why I even picked Australia, since it's so far from home.
So I decided to list a few reasons and the places that most captured my attention Down Under - its popular name due to its geographic location.
I lived at the Gold Coast for four years.  My first months were spent at Surfers Paradise, which houses a large community of Brazilians and, possibly, one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia.

The city of Gold Coast, located by the shoreline, has a beautiful beach, white sand everywhere, perfect waves and a crowded sea - but with enough waves for everybody.
There's more to Gold Coast than its beach, however. You may find many waterfalls and green spots over there. I promise that as soon as I have the time, I'll write a post dedicated to Gold Coast, because there aren't enough words to describe this slice of heaven - someday, I might even call it home.

During the years I spent in Australia, I had the opportunity of visiting other places. Melbourne, capital of the state of Victoria, was one of them. In order to witness how the elegant art of the past blends in with our current art, visit Federation Square, a veritable leisure compound with restaurants, movie theaters, drama theaters and museums. Order a cup of coffee at one of the bars and simply watch the city in its hustle and bustle. Since you're there, don't miss the chance of visiting the Australian Centre of the Moving Image - ACMI.

Melbourne is also famous for its maze of hidden alleys filled with colorful artistic graffiti. Take at least one day to walk through them. Oh, Melbourne! If only I could have spent more time with you.

I had the pleasure of "living" in Sydney - I say "living" because I was there twice with the boast, first for two months and then for four more months. I must confess that I really felt I was in Australia when I saw the Opera House. I remember when I used to study English at school and would admire the building in my textbooks. I dreamt of being there. And there I was!

Sydney is the capital of the state of New South Wales. It is a big city filled with culture, beaches, sun and cold weather. You can get a taste of all seasons in a single day. My tip for exploring Sydney is to go to the Circular Quay, the central station for ferries. If you want to stay on firm ground, you can take the train there. Public transportation works well. Use it often.

Visit places such as Cairns, Perth, Brisbane, Canberra, Noosa, Sunshine Coast and Airlie Beach. I hope I have more time to tell you what I saw over there.
I haven't explored the country as much as I wanted yet. At the top of my Australia list, I have yet to see Tasmania and Alice Springs. Have you visited Australia yet? Do you want to? Tell us about your experiences or send us your questions. I have much yet to tell and to discover. Perhaps we can do so together!
