About me
I am Brazilian, piscean and traveller. Working as a yacht stewardess gives me the oportunitty to be close to the ocean, which is where I always wanted to be. This blog is the result of a desire to share my life with people who are seeking for a new adventure and also to help those who cross my path. Welcome to my world!
A detailed job description of a yacht stewardess
Do you know what exactly a yacht stewardess do?

Perhaps you’ve never heard about this profession before. I didn’t. Not until the day the owner of a yacht invited me for the job. To be a Stewardess (for women) or Steward (for men) is not an easy job, but it has many rewards.
Imagine a five star hotel. Keep in mind that this five star hotel is on the water.
Now imagine that you have to do everything in this hotel, except cooking and navigating. Is it hard to imagine? So calm down, let's take it slow.
A five-star hotel has:

The best service

It is to carry at least three dishes at the same time, going up and down the stairs in a moving boat. It is to know the wine that matches the daily menu and suggest it to the guests. Remembering that, when serving, no drop of the drink shall fall out of the cup. Could you imagine a drop of red wine falling on that fabulous white tablecloth? No way.

It is to be the best waitress, who understands etiquette in all its details (knife here, fork there, serve the dish from the left, remove from the right and so on).

To be a Stewardess is to be ready to work before any guest wakes up and go to sleep after everyone is already in their rooms. This means that your work day may be from 6:30 am to 11 pm. And if you’re lucky, you can have a one-hour break in the middle of the day.
The best drinks

It is to have the ability to make the best cocktails – or at least try – in flavor and presentation, every day, when the sun goes down. After all, there is nothing fancier than having a Piña Colada in your hands, in the middle of the ocean, watching the sunset, right?
Table set and decoration

It is to know how to fold napkins in the most unusual and stylish possible way: flowers, boats, seashells, candles, rabbits, wind vanes and whatever your imagination allows. It is not only decorating the table but also the environment, according to the food that will be served. Seafood dinner requires seashells and a blue tone; just like Italian food, require details in red, white and green; and for Thai, tones of purple and green.
The best entertainment

Organizing movie sessions, games, themed dinners, trips ashore, barbecues, music, it’s also part of the job. The idea is to always have entertainment options for boat owners and their guests, always trying to anticipate their wishes.
The cleanest place around the world
Dust off, use the vacuum, polish the silverware and crystal glasses, clean the bathrooms and make beds. Oh! And whenever you have some extra time, help the rest of the crew.
I'm sure I’m forgetting something. But basically, the stewardess’ or steward’s job is to take care of everything related to the interior of the yacht. Fulfill any guests´ wishes, as long as it does not affect the human integrity. It is to never say no. And the best part of all, and my favorite, it is to do all that with a smile on your face, always!
Nice to meet you, this is my profession!
